I enjoyed the experience I received with machining and the independence that they gave me. If I wanted to try anything new, I was allowed to.

I wish I had more direction during the internship.

Every intern has a different experience, if you want to try something, talk to your value stream manager.

What I liked

Flexibility when requesting time off Great community Frequent surprises (pizza parties, ice cream carts, end-of-month catered lunch events, etc) range of work experiences responsibility in managing high-volume equipment set internship path designed to pick up and contribute to future internships unlimited overtime opportunities with time-and-a-half overtime pay for everything over 40 hours

What I wish was different

Looser work hours (I worked 50 hour weeks as a base employment schedule)

Advice

The base schedule is very demanding, but the management is very flexible and is happy to work with you to navigate around any schedule issues you have. Otherwise, it is a great social atmosphere and will be very rewarding both in knowledge learned and financially.
