What I wish was different
My supervisor was regularly vocal about his annoyance of me being a remote (unpaid) intern, even though they clearly hired me within that context. They also would have other meetings and conversations with me on call when I was actively working on tasks. When I told them that they were distracting me, they acknowledged it and still continued the behavior. At one point, my supervisor asked me to watch and transcribe a recording of a court session that he was involved in, then asked my opinion on the case afterwards, which put me in a very uncomfortable situation. Generally, they were persistently condescending, unaccommodating, unprofessional, unethical, and difficult to work with. I spoke with the FWT office about this and they talked about terminating the college's connection with this FWT site, but clearly that is not the case. I highly do no recommend this internship and the other interns I spoke with about their experience at this FWT site feel the same way.
