The Residency program is an excellent way to gain educational and formal experience in vocational Ministry while getting paid. The folks who have built this Ministry do not treat it like an opportunity for easy workers to help pick up slack- instead they are dedicated to helping you find your fit. It is a great role for those who are considering working in the church, and will immerse you in opportunities.
What I wish was different
In some ways the program was still growing in my time there. One thing I hope they will further develop is a better structure for annually reviewing and assessing how things are going both for the Resident and those around them.
Advice
The Residency is especially helpful if you already have a sense of what sort of Ministry or work you'd like to be doing in the church. While it can help you figure this out, you will probably have an easier time if you come in with at least some confidence of where you belong.
