Really strong relationships formed with my supervisors and team members; was able to experience a lot of different aspects of what it is like to gather data to implement public health programs, and in general, work in a city public health department; was given freedom and independence to work on my project, but support was there when I needed it; there was really open and friendly communication between all department workers-- even the chief public health officer was accessible!
What I wish was different
I would not change much, maybe more exposure to different areas within the department, but that is also something where I could have taken initiative on my own.

Network! It may seem intimidating but making strong office relationships with co-workers is so important, it sets you up for success and gives you better insight into the organization and the work culture
