Camp Grier is a non profit, skills based summer camp specializing in outdoor adventures. Campers ages 7-17 travel from all over the country to spend a week or two with us in the summer. Camp Grier is located on 650 acres bordering the Pisgah National Forest. Our program is a "Journey Series". Our goal is to teach our campers new additions to skills each summer. We aim to challenge, inspire and encourage our campers to make new friends, overcome obstacles and play in the beautiful outdoors. Our programs are called: Explorer (rising 2nd & 3rd), Discoverer (rising 4th, 5th and 6th), Adventurer (rising 7th, 8th, and 9th), and Navigator (rising 10th, 11th and 12th). In addition, we offer specialty Equestrian, Mountain Biking and Farm Camps for one week sessions.
Camp Grier stands apart from other traditional summer camps because aim to push against the financial boundaries that limit some from outdoor activities. Over 25% of our campers are on full scholarship. Our goal is to diversify the outdoors and have a safe space for campers to be their best and most authentic selves.
