Helping to create a camp experience for children who had been in quarantine situations all year was very rewarding. Additionally, working with my specific age group (birth- 7 years) presented many learning opportunities. Each day was a fun adventure of biking, arts and crafts, and of course the beach!
What I wish was different
While the job was very rewarding, it was equally taxing. The experience would have been better if there had been more resources for staff.
Advice
For this particular role, it is important to come with activities in your back pocket- songs, crafts, activities. Having a range of activities that are appropriate for different ages and abilities is helpful to balance the wide range of ages.
