CBRE/New England

Project Management Intern

May - August 2018 • Boston, MA

What I liked

Great people, awesome work environment, and incredible experience. Everyone there was more than helpful in explaining their journey and give you a plethora of advice to begin your own.

What I wish was different

It would have been more beneficial if it were a rotational internship

Advice

It’s all about creating relationships in the commercial real estate industry. The bigger network you build, the more success you will have.

Project Management Intern

May - August 2017 • Boston, MA

What I liked

This was a great internship experience. I learned a lot about the real estate industry and made many important and helpful connections. One of the best parts of the internship was that CBRE would organize different networking events for the interns where we would get to hear from employees of other real estate firms in the area. This was a great opportunity to network and many of the connections I made through these events I have been utilizing in my current job search.

What I wish was different

I worked directly for the project management team, which was great. However, some form of a rotational program would have been helpful in order to gain more experience from other teams at CBRE.

Advice

You will be prompted by the internship organizers to ask a LOT of people out to coffee and lunch. This advice is twofold: Never hesitate to ask someone out to coffee if you are truly interested in learning more about their life/career path, but do not simply ask out multiple people just so you can say you met with X amount of people this summer. Always remember--quality over quantity.
