Chaminade Julienne Catholic High School is a Catholic secondary school owned and operated by two religious orders, Society of Mary and the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, in conjunction with lay persons. The downtown school has existed for more than 130 yearsat its location on Franklin and Ludlow Streets in Dayton, Ohio. The school is proud of its cosmopolitan composition. Students enrolled in grades 9–12 are 64.1% Catholic, 51.5% Caucasian, 27.4% African American, 8.8% Multiracial, 8.8% Hispanic, 1.4% Asian, 1.8% African, .3% other.* Of this population, 89% receives some form of financial assistance and/or scholarships. In keeping with our founders’ charisms and CJ’s mission statement, last year students contributed more than 12,157 volunteer hours to the community. More than 27,500 men and women are graduates of the school.
