What I wish was different
Having never done an internship before, I went into it with high expectations and excitement that I would be working in the shadows of professional filmmakers and video editors, to learn as much as I could. That was not the case, and I wish I would have been more informed going into the internship. I was also fortunate to have my own gear... camera, lighting, sound recording device, etc., because there was none for us to use. None of the other intern's work that was filmed on a gopro made it into the festival, I believe because of the fish-eye effect that was very noticeable on the recorded footage. I wish I would have known this going into it too. I would have enjoyed working with a company that was well equipped to better familiarize myself with industry preferred gear.
