The City of Cleburne is located within an hour’s drive of southwest of Dallas and only 40 minutes south of Fort Worth. The Chisholm Trail Parkway allows for quick trips to the metropolitan areas. Cleburne is a quaint city filled with culture and has approximately 32,000 residents.

The Cleburne City Council consist of four single-member district seats and a mayor. The City of Cleburne is a
Council-Manager form of government. The residents elect a mayor and four members to serve the city for two-year
terms. The City Council appoints a city manager, who is responsible for the operation of all city departments. With
an authorized staff of approximately 340, the City provides an array of services to the residents of Cleburne.

The City of Cleburne has been upgraded by Standard and Poor’s to an AA rating (Strong capacity to meet financial requirements).
The focus of the budget is to use limited resources while maintaining a high quality of services. Cleburne continues to experience exceptional growth.

The City of Cleburne Police and Fire Departments are governed under Texas Local Government
Code 143 Civil Service.
