The internship was very hands on and allowed for close interactions with all the museum staff as well as guests of the museum. I was able to learn more about Sacramento History, and the importance of Sacramento to California history. Working with the education department also allowed me to work closely with the living history, which was amazing to see docents and interpretators up close with the guests on tours. There was a 3 week history summer camp that allowed me to work with the education department directly with teaching and passing knowledge down to kids ages 6 - 11. Getting the kids interesting in the history of Sacramento, the Gold Rush, and California history was a very rewarding challenge.
What I wish was different
Possibly having more actual work to do on a weekly basis. The internship was pretty good overall though.
