Battery Intern

May - August 2019 • Glendale, WI

What I liked

The people and the environment. You are treated like a full-time employee and not an intern. They do what's best for you and want to help you grow your experiences and network.

What I wish was different

I wish I was placed in a team that had more hands-on work, however, there was a last-minute change due to a project setback.

Advice

Take advantage of the people and really get to know them. Reach out when you are looking for a change or want to experience other parts of the company. They are very accommodating!

Modeling and Simulation Intern

May 2019 • Milwaukee, WI

What I liked

I had a very helpful team of engineers. The project I was working on was more advanced than other stuff I had done in the past so I had a lot of questions. The engineers were always very willing to help me with my problems. The company also puts quite a bit of resources towards the intern program (outings, seminars, lunch N' learns, etc.)

What I wish was different

It would have been nice to get a little more hands on experience.

Advice

Don't be afraid to ask questions. Co-workers are very willing to help.

Engineering Intern

June 2019 • Canby, OR

What I liked

I liked the projects I worked on and also that there was 3 other interns going through this same experience with me.

What I wish was different

Not much, I liked the flexibility and that I was given the space to work autonomously and collaboratively.

Advice

To anyone looking for internships/jobs, always take advantage of your career center’s events/resources and follow their advice. Even if the specific company doesn’t have current job postings related to you, make sure they still receive your resume through networking. Be open to every possibility.
