I loved the hands-on experience I gained from observing diagnostic evaluations from new clients and debriefing with the clinicians afterward. Additionally, I appreciated the conversations and mentorship I received from the owner of CPG Dr. Joyce Irons, who inspired me to go the extra mile and strategically plan for pursuing a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology.
What I wish was different
I wish that I could've spent more time doing industry-oriented work, such as assisting the therapists with prepping for clients or going over past clients treatment plans.
Advice
If you're interested in clinical/counseling psychology and want to learn the ins and outs of owning a private practice this internship is PERFECT for you. Go in it with an open mind and desire to learn and you'll have a great time!
