people analytics intern

June - September 2023 • Chicago, IL

What I liked

I liked being able to connect with other interns throughout the experience and the ample amount of opportunities I had to network. I also liked that it was a hybrid schedule and the days in the office was flexible.

What I wish was different

I would've wished that as a late start, I could attend the intern onboarding that the other interns could attend. I also wish the internship had been a little bit longer because I just started to feel comfortable with all of the software and work I was completing.

Advice

I would advise that interns take every learning opportunity and networking opportunity that the company offers. I joined a couple of employee resource groups that the company offered and it helped me feel more involved and connected to my coworkers.

What I liked

Wonderful team, and a great learning experience. The job helped strengthen my resume and I found it much easier to get internships and interviews after my time there.

What I wish was different

Nothing! My time at CME was wonderful.

Advice

Always apply regardless of your predispositions. Sometimes relocation is necessary however in some cases the company may offer assistance for that, allowing you to take the position. These are things you'd only learn once you begin the application process.

Clearing Intern

May - August 2019 • Chicago, IL

What I liked

I loved the people I worked with and the amount of dedication everyone had to their job.

What I wish was different

I don’t wish much to be different. There was a lot of inclusion and they seemed to really care about us interns and what thoughts we had pertaining to the projects at hand.

Advice

Honestly, it’s cliché, but never give up. If you’re working on a project with a quickly approaching deadline, ask for help or an extension. There’s no need for you to wait until the day it’s meant to be presented to tell them you didn’t finish. It looks better on you that you were honest and realized your limits. They’ll respect and understand if you explain.
