What I liked

I loved the network within the company. Everyone was incredibly welcoming and willing to meet and chat about their experiences working at a tech startup incubator. I also really liked the fast-paced challenging environment of the company, and experiencing what it's like to build and promote a website from scratch. There are a lot of fun intern/company outings, as well!

What I wish was different

While I had opportunities to improve my skills in SQL as an analyst, I wish I had more opportunities to improve in python.

Advice

Take advantage of the Cogo ecosystem! Reach out to people within the company and learn more about what they do. This gave me more clarity as to what I would be interested in doing post-Williams.

What I liked

It was a really stimulating and cool intern project. The 10 interns were split into two teams and tasked with building an online product for the whole 10 weeks. It was awesome to get to see something start to finish and be able to actually make decisions and take ownership over it. The intern mentors are in their 20s and very friendly so I got a lot of great early career advice from them. Cogo Labs is also just really great to its employees - fully stocked kitchen, tons of outings, very manageable hours, etc.

What I wish was different

You don't get to do a lot of work with full time employees so I didn't get a feel for what it would be like to work full time there. This made the decision of whether to take the return offer or not pretty hard. You also end up working with the same 4 other interns (the ones on your team) pretty much the whole summer so if you don't like them then that can be a bad experience.

Advice

Ask so many questions. It's a very unstructured intern program so what you put in is what you get out. So much of the knowledge I got this summer I had to reach out and ask someone about. Just be as proactive as possible.
