Political Science Research Assistant

June - August 2018 • Waterville, ME

What I liked

I loved the opportunity for mostly self guided research into extremely relevant and interesting topics. I also appreciated the he opportunity to discuss and think about my research with an expert in the field (my professor).

What I wish was different

I have very little complaints of my experience. I did work alone in an office, so maybe it would have been nice to work with one other person directly on the project in the room just to stay engaged and have the opportunity to constantly bounce ideas off of one another.

Advice

The amount of enjoyment from this work that you eat out is directly related to the amount of work you put in. The more invested in the research, the more interested and engaged and prideful of your work

I wish I had been able to do more for my research that I am continuing this year.

Advice

If you’re joining the lab, do so with a goal in mind (will help career path, a specific research goal, etc.)

June 2018 • Waterville, ME

What I liked

Like the theme of the research, working with a coworker, doing CS research, the experience of colby in the summer with a big group of friends

What I wish was different
