They offered free week-long training and it was amazing pay for a summer job. At the end of the weeklong training not only were you a certified lifeguard, but we were also certified in CPR, First Aid, and AED. I enjoyed being able to work outdoors with people my age.
What I wish was different
I would have enjoyed having a more flexible schedule or more days off.
Advice
I would advise other students to become certified as early in the summer as possible so you have more time to work. It's also important to stay fit and healthy! Lifeguarding is a very fun job but must be taken seriously- situations can become urgent in the blink of an eye.

What I liked
I liked that I was able to learn more about the inner workings of a local government office.

I wish that there was more work to do. There were sometimes where I'd have nothing to do and I had to go find it.

I would recommend this internship to anyone looking to learn more about the government sector.
