Even though this wasn't connected to my major, it was nice to get out, away from my office and get some fresh air. I also liked the opportunity to learn about gardening and work with a diverse group of people who were kind and welcoming to me.

Just go in with an open mind, ready to work, and interact with amazing people.

What I liked
The food bank members are extremely welcoming and kind, and it is nice to be able to work one on one with children.
What I wish was different
The schedule is kind of unpredictable, with work schedules sometimes only being sent out the day prior to when I am expected to go in.
Advice
I would make sure that you have sunscreen and don't mind being outdoors for a while, because working in the gardens is a major part of the job.
