Advice
The disability population is extremely sensitive and as a professional in this field, being in tune with what triggers and calms this exceptional population will greatly benefit all involved in their care.

What I liked
Being a psychology major, it was cool having in-field experience aiding people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
What I wish was different
I wish management felt secure in their ability to hold personal and professional standards. Too many times it seemed the Community Options staff would ignore going above and beyond in a meaningful way due to a presumptuous fear of litigation.
Advice
Mastery over work and life's balance isn't just underrated, it's the driving force that enables the clients and staff to never stop striving if only to rest.
