Compass Public Charter School provides a unique opportunity to work in a K-12 aligned school requiring strong collaboration skills and a willingness to contribute to the positive school culture. Our curriculum is challenging and mastery based, our students are enthusiastic, and our colleagues are dedicated and flexible. Just as we promise our students, educators at Compass have unlimited potential to get out of the work exactly what they put in.
Our school is a public charter school located in Meridian, Idaho. Founded by a group of dedicated parents, Compass opened its doors in August 2005. Like most charter schools in our community, Compass was established to add a strong public school choice for families in our area. We now serve over 1,000 students in grades K-12. We believe in the mastery learning model where classroom assessments and teacher feedback are tools FOR learning.
Compass Public Charter School's Mission is to provide a safe and challenging learning community that prepares students for lifelong excellence through exceptional academics, character development, and the ability to define and defend a personal worldview.
Mission statements, philosophies, and visions are intended to recruit, retain, and unite people in the pursuit of a common purpose and provide the foundation for the expectations of work customs, conditions and capabilities. Without them, people may act through a sense of compliance, not a sense of commitment. Commitment mobilizes people's energies and focuses organizational attention.
