I had a lot of freedom to research the topics that I found interesting, and had a lot of opportunities to go to events in the city and learn directly from the people who are experts on Latin America.
What I wish was different
I wish I had been provided a transportation stipend; commuting around the city can get expensive!

What I liked
The best part of the internship was the amount of work I was able to do. In addition to conducting research and getting my work published, I also did a number of administrative tasks that allowed me to develop skills I can use in future positions.
What I wish was different
I wish I had gotten paid or the internship was fewer hours a week. The work I did was heavy and it became exhausting.
Advice
Get the most you can out of the internship. Work had for yourself and maintain a good attitude about how the internship can help you in the future.
