I enjoyed the relationship that I had with everyone. I think instead of treating each other like co-workers, we are more friends with each other and we are able to work in a very casual environment. There's also the fact that people were very dedicated to the work they do. People are very motivated to finish the task on hand not because there's a deadline coming up but more so because it is just very interesting to them.
What I wish was different
I wish that my role was less remote and more in-person. Working from home alone gets boring very fast.
Advice
Don't be afraid to talk to people and ask questions. It may feel intimidating at first to be working in such an environment, but people are more friendly and usually would be willing to help you out.

Sustainable Solutions Intern
May 2017 • Phoenix, AZ
What I liked
This internship was great in the sense that I had many different opportunities to learn from other departments and other work groups. I had a wide range of freedom to work on projects that I found interesting to me and had the chance to even develop new projects. I also loved the exposure to business travel and having the ability to meet all the corporate executives that my team reports to.
What I wish was different
Because we were the first cohort of regional interns, it was a little difficult to feel connected to other interns; however that was not a critical part of my experience.
Advice
I would recommend any future interns to not be afraid to ask to shadow other departments or request to work on interdepartmental projects. Meeting new people not only helps you to build your network, but it also gives you the chance to learn about what you like or dislike.

Marketing Communications Field Services Intern
May - August 2017 • Atlanta, GA
What I liked
The people that work for Cox Communications are incredibly passionate, experienced, and motivated to do the best they can at their job. The people were definitely the best part of the job.
What I wish was different
I wish I had been able to work longer and meet less interns (there were over 100 interns and it was a little overwhelming to try to form relationships with them.)
Advice
Make sure you dress as professionally as you can! Although they have a relatively casual dress code, it is still a corporate environment, and it will set you apart from the other interns.
