I enjoyed the friendly work environment that was present each and every day. While we did not have a large team, we worked hard collaboratively while also doing great work in our independent projects.
What I wish was different
There was not much that I wish was different. I was lucky enough for the internship to still be available through the pandemic. The team was very understanding about balancing remote work with in-office work.
Advice
Do not be afraid of working for an unpaid non-for-profit internship. Wabash has a great program that will get you paid for your hard work, something many people do not have the luxury of having in unpaid internships. The Montgomery Chamber of Commerce provides an amazing work environment and even better co-workers. Due to the size of the Chamber and Crawfordsville, the Chamber gives you a huge opportunity to do some great work that will be seen by many established businesses.

Summer Intern
May - August 2020 • Crawfordsville, IN
What I liked
I loved working for a small office that made a major difference within the community. I really enjoyed connecting with the community and learning more about Crawfordsville and the wonderful things small businesses have to offer.
What I wish was different
I wish I was able to come into the office more often to work rather than working virtually but that was out of our control at the time.
Advice
Do not hesitate to work for a non-profit organization. It is truly amazing how many people you get to meet and interact with through the Chamber of Commerce.
