Crye Precision

Industrial Design Intern

May - August 2018 • New York City, NY

What I liked

The internship didn’t feel like an internship. It felt like I was integrated into their team and felt like a full-time employee. The work I was doing wasn’t busy work or things that were beneath other employees, but were legitimate products and designs that could be used and further refined in the future. The scope of the work I was doing was very broad and allowed me to get the full experience of what it would be like to work for this company full time. Everyone was extremely nice and truly helped me learn and be successful.

What I wish was different

I wish that I could have worked on a few more projects outside of what I was assigned. I think that working on more core products that is more indicative of the companies “bread and butter” would have given me more insight.

Advice

Absolutely be open to learning and dissecting the process the employees and the company itself uses to develop ideas. Make friends with everyone and get to know the people you are working with, they just might be your coworkers in the future. Even the areas that you aren’t interested in getting a job in, ask questions and LEARN.
