Software Developer Intern

August 2018 • Layton, UT

What I liked

The environment at DataMaster is really great! The collaboration between developers through training and other activities make going to work so much more pleasurable. The work there is also really challenging but very satisfying as well. Whether we are fixing bugs, implementing new features to the software or improving the architecture of the code I am constantly learning new things and becoming a better software developer.

What I wish was different

There isn't much I would change at all. The environment is really great, the work is fun and challenging as well.

Advice

Be patient with yourself when starting out in this position. I was hired as a quality assurance specialist for the company initially and shortly after was moved to be a software developer intern. Learning the code architecture was challenging at first for me and it did take some time to be able to understand how the code worked and it is like that for anywhere anyone would apply to work as a developer. But over the course of time I became more familiar with the code and I've learned so much since then and it has been a very rewarding experience.
