Directions for Our Youth (“DFOY”) was founded 25 years ago by a group of concerned and dedicated neighborhood residents who wanted to address the lack of economic and education opportunities for local youth. Today DFOY operates youth development programs in nine sites in the Bronx and Harlem. DFOY operates on a $4.5 million annual budget. DFOY provides after-school services, summer programs, and continued learning programs within New York City Department of Education and New York City Housing Authority locations.
DFOY employs approximately 200 professional program staff and serves more than 2,000 K–12 students and 150 adults annually.
