The Eaton County Road Commission is charged by law with the duty to keep in reasonable repair, so that they shall be reasonably safe and convenient for public travel, all county roads, bridges, and culverts under their jurisdiction. The Road Commission is also responsible for permitting all work that occurs within the road right-of-way such as utilities, driveways, and sidewalks.
To fulfill these responsibilities on 1,175 miles of road, the Road Commission utilizes Engineering Technicians to perform many tasks including CAD, surveying, assisting with the preparation of bid documents, field inspection, material testing, and many other civil engineering related tasks.
