ECHO

Marketing Intern

May - August 2018 • Leesburg, VA

What I liked

I had the opportunity to curate my own fundraisers with little guidance, giving me full artistic freedom to create the event I thought would be successful. I was also able to work side by side with adults with disabilities, which was the most rewarding part of being at a non-profit.

What I wish was different

I wish I had worked with a slightly larger firm, as there was only so much work available within the company. However, this allowed me to experience multiple positions within the company!

Advice

I would share that you should never be afraid to share your ideas, because often times an outside perspective is appreciated within a company, and can create new opportunities for you! It will often times impress your superiors!

Farm intern

June 2018 • North Fort Myers, FL

What I liked

This internship program is one of the best I've ever seen. It's full of learning experiences, and it is designed with a wonderful balance of work, self-directed work, and study time. ECHO's agriculture missions work is broad in scope and provides interns with many opportunities to learn and grow in areas they choose.

Advice

Be as fully engaged as possible and get to know staff because there's so much to learn from the people who come to ECHO.
