Summer Intern

June - August 2020 • New York City, NY

What I liked

I jumped right into meaningful work at the start of my internship, and I was always treated as an important part of the organization's mission. Through researching people and organizations to advise EFE to reach out to in preparation for their Fall 2020 Women's Economic Empowerment Campaign, I got to be an integral part of a grassroots movement and incite a global conversation about the advancement of women's rights.

What I wish was different

I wish that I would have gotten a chance to work more with other interns and those in higher positions at EFE, although the pandemic was most likely the cause of this problem given that I was working remotely.

Advice

When doing research like I was at EFE, it's important to frequently check in with your supervisors to make sure that your research is going in the right direction.
