Be flexible and ready to adapt to the unique needs and abilities of the child you are assigned to. And if their parents give you tips/tricks, take them!

What I liked
I really liked being able to work with kids and have a meaningful outlet during the start of this crazy pandemic.
What I wish was different
Nothing! I had no issues with the students I tutored :)
Advice
Don’t be afraid to communicate your availability with the student’s parents from the first time you meet so that they don’t get upset later on about you “not tutoring enough” or not providing lessons, which is not part of our role as volunteers.
