What I liked

I liked the hands on work experience that I received while working in the field as well as the real life people that I met. I would have to wake up at 4:30 AM everyday and it put into prospective how hard people work for a living and how blessed I am to have the opportunity to study at University. Furthermore, this year the company gave me a lot more freedom as I was managing the daily tasks of a Superintendent just on a smaller job site with support from the project manager.

What I wish was different

Nothing really, I guess a later start time because having to get to work at 6:00 AM isn't the easiest wake up. But it was a very well managed company and the employees were friendly helpful.

Advice

That hard work and having a reasonable mindset pay off. I also learned that the best way to manage people is to develop relationships with them. People are a lot more likely to do good work for you if you have a good relationship with them.
