Elbit Systems of America

Systems Engineering Intern

June - August 2021 • Fort Worth, TX

What I liked

Very good work culture! There was also a lot of real hands-on work, not busy work! I felt like I got good technological, hardware, and soft skill experience. It was also a hybrid role, so I could work from home some days.

What I wish was different

Accounts Payable Intern

February - December 2020 • Merrimack, NH

What I liked

I liked the flexibility of the internship, with being in school full time the company worked with my class schedule and was very understanding when it came to school work. I also liked how much trust my coworkers placed in me with allowing me to do the same work my peers were doing, and challenging me with other tasks and roles.

What I wish was different

I wish Covid never happened so I would have been able to learn more about the department, and learn other tasks that occur in the accounts payable department.

Advice

The only advice I really have, which I think applies to any internship not just this one, is to ask questions and take notes on things you either don't know, or tend to forget. For example, when it came to allocating costs to different departments I wrote down little reminders at the beginning of my training that I could reference at any time if needed, which really helped a lot.

How acommidating and flexible they are for school. They also did great when covid hit with allowing me to work remote.

If covid didn't hit, i would have been able to shadow different engineers in different fields.

Learn as much as you can and reach out to people, there are so many resources available.

Onto-Electronics Engineering Intern

January - August 2018 • Merrimack, NH

What I liked

They wanted to help me learn as much as I could in not only engineering but life. There was not a huge diversity but each indivudal was different and awesome to be around and learn from. They do a 9/80 schedule which means you have off every other Friday. Its in a very accesiable easy location. The list goes on.

What I wish was different

Engineering projects take months and months if not years to implement, create, apply, etc. so it is hard to only be in company for only two months. It was hard to find work now and then, but that allowed me to seek out other areas of the company.

Advice

No matter what it is, you have the opportunity to learn from it.
