Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas

Information Security Intern

June 2021 • Dallas, TX

What I liked

I love how inclusive the Federal Reserve is when it comes to hiring employees. They are very flexible with hours and have plenty of room to grow.

What I wish was different

I wish it was in person but due to the pandemic it was mainly remote work from home.

Advice

Always ask questions and stay hungry to learn. Absorb information like a sponge and suggest ideas if you have any.

Banking Supervision Intern

June - August 2018 • Dallas, TX

What I liked

I liked the ability I had to network with many important people in the bank, and I enjoyed the work that was give to me. Most people I came across during my internship were more than happy to lend some time to share their wisdom and experience with me.

What I wish was different

I wish the internship program would have been structured just a little bit different throughout the summer. There were a number of set in place meetings the interns had to attend that were not always relevant to what my specific job was for the summer.

Advice

I would say to network as much as you can while you’re on your internship to help secure a future job or good recommendation from your employer.

Technical Writer

May 2018 • Dallas, TX

What I liked

the company, the job, the program and the people

What I wish was different

wish it was longer because it took a while to get into the work and 8-9 weeks felt too short.

Advice

be open to all experiences especially if they are only over the summer. It wasn't my first choice or even my second but now is a place I want to continue my career at.

Statistics Analyst

June - August 2018 • Dallas, TX

What I liked

I liked the culture of the organization the most, employees - including senior managers were willing and open to meet with interns to share their stories and experiences. Otherwise I liked the whole experience; challenging work, learned a lot, meeting other interns, volunteering, attending dinners, shows and get togethers.

What I wish was different

It was a great experience!

Advice

With internships, always try as much as possible to learn as many things as you can.
