I learned a lot of real-life knowledge that I would not have gotten outside of this experience. I was able to take everything I learned from my classes and apply it in real time with the guidance of a professional. This allowed me to help design and launch a campaign that was pretty much my own design, and that was so cool. I would not have been able to do it without the guidance and help of my supervisor but I still felt like this was a great experience of practicing my marketing skills in real life.
What I wish was different
I wish there were more in-person components to this internship. I liked the flexibility of being virtual, but I felt like some of the best parts of this internship were collaboration and there is just a bit missing when it is virtual.
Advice
Learn the tools of your field. There are so many tools out there that are not talked about in school and it is really in your best interest to go out and learn them. There are so many tools out there to make your life easier, especially in marketing. Find them yourself or ask someone in the field what they use.
