What I liked

I really enjoyed having a job that required close interactions with people. The overall atmosphere at Hollister Co. allowed me to approach customers and coworkers without the stereotypical rigidity, and it was an especially unique experience considering the different cultural setting outside the U.S..

What I wish was different

I wish I had more hours to work during my time at Hollister. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, I had a set limit of only 10 hours a week, and the store kept hiring more and more staff to maintain the flow—this was difficult in getting to know fellow coworkers.

Advice

I would really emphasize the importance of confidence! Not a lot of job opportunities require the necessity to be social or approachable, but either way, I believe it’s a great asset for any kind of experience. My time at Hollister helped me develop a lot of skills, but pushing myself beyond my own “introverted-ness,” was something that affected me beyond my career.
