iMFLUX, Inc.

Process Engineer Intern

June - August 2020 • Hamilton, OH

What I liked

I joined the iMFLUX team during the COVID-19 pandemic. So, I very much liked how they decided to continue their internship program. I appreciated before the start of the internship how communicative and supportive the team was. They were constantly checking in to keep me in the know of what was going on at their facility and asking about how I was holding up with everything. The actual experience itself was outstanding too considering the circumstances. I loved learning about how to pull/set molds, hot runner circuits, sales, iMFLUX's unique injection molding process, etc. Also, this Innovation and Education Center's (IEC) team was so down to earth and very much understood that I am student. They were super encouraging and accommodated to my passion in plastics, sustainability.

What I wish was different

I wish that I had received my project earlier in the summer so that I had more time to finish out the whole scope of the project. I understand with the COVID circumstances that travel wasn't really an option this summer. However, I know that that is usually a perk of this internship.

Advice

I believe that recognizing your standing as a student with this team is important. This group is very intelligent, so to go in with a learning mindset instead of feeling obligated to show off what you know could help you build stronger relationships with this team. Everyone here has been super helpful with any questions I had for them. So, if you were to choose to intern here feel assured that your questions are not a burden.
