What I liked

I loved how flexible my advisor was with my schedule. I could create my own work week which was so helpful. I also liked how much my advisor cared about my learning and all of the valuable information he provided me.

What I wish was different

There were some times I wasn't given information or work right away, which may have came as a factor of time difference since this was a remote position with the company based out of California.

Advice

Take each job in stride and take chances. You will be encouraged to make your own creative choices and then take feedback afterwards rather than waiting for permission to make any decisions. And always keep very open and honest communication with your advisor. Overall, this experience was so rewarding!

Video Intern

August 2022 • Syracuse, NY

What I liked

Very interesting work. I was given a wide variety of projects to choose to work on. The jobs range from script development to video editing.

What I wish was different

Nothing

Advice

You need to be able to set aside chunks of time to work on projects. Won't be productive and successful if you do them in parts.

Post Production Intern

May - August 2019 • Los Angeles, CA

What I liked

I liked working on a music video for production since a PA wasn't available. It was nice to go at my own pace and do as many hours as I could, with editing together trailers and imputing advice on projects to make them better.

What I wish was different

I wish I went to the actual company building. Since my laptop had battery issues and I worked from my apartment in Costa Mesa I felt it better at the time to finish the internship and work from home.

Advice

Work hard and build relationships with your employers.
