- interacted and helped with all incoming students (new and transfer)
- networking opportunities around campus (met and familiarized a lot with higher up people)
- worked with great faculty and student coworkers
What I wish was different
Nothing to change
Advice
Be flexible and prepared for anything. This job requires you to handle a lot at once (think organized chaos) and you have to think quickly on your toes and react to different situations and people as they come. There is no one way to do this job so you just have to figure out what works best for you that still lets you work with your coworkers/bosses and gets the job done effectively.

Cybersecurity Tutor
June - July 2018 • Indiana, PA
What I liked
I really enjoyed being able to teach middle school and high school students along with teachers, introductory level cybersecurity topics. It also challenged me to think about everything I have learned, and apply it in a meaningful way.
What I wish was different
Looking back at it, I wish I made a better presentation (module) to teach people. I think my module was very informational, but lacked the ability to keep students engaged and it wasn't as hands on as I would have hoped.
Advice
Teaching others, teaches you a lot about what you know. When someone is able to probe you with questions you can either share your knowledge or use those questions to not only teach them, but learn something new for yourself. It is very rewarding in that regard.

What I liked
I liked the people I work with, they have become my friends. I also like the information I have learned, which helped with with paying during my college career as I have learned a lot about financial aid and billing.
What I wish was different
I wish some of the people who come in for help were nicer, but that is just a problem with customer service in general.
Advice
Be prepared to work, but it's worth it.
