What I liked

I remain passionate about Inversant's mission of college access via parental empowerment, and I love that I have the opportunity to learn about the field and continue to develop my skills every day. I feel that my work experience complements my academic trajectory, although it requires significant trade-offs to work off campus.

What I wish was different

Over the summer of 2017, I struggled with clarifying my role. Staff turnover and my own demonstrated work ethic necessitated that I take on new projects, but I inadvertently took on too much, too quickly, and didn't quite know how to ask for help or draw on the resources around me for support.

Advice

COMMUNICATE! Your employer wants to know how you're feeling, whether you liked a project or not, whether you're bored or overwhelmed or confused. All it takes is "I'm really enjoying [task/project], and was hoping I might be able to [continue collaborating on it/take on additional work/expand it]"
