Visual Merchandiser

June 2019 • Lynnfield, MA

What I liked

I love the flexibility of the job and really being able to incorporate everything I’ve learned from studying Marketing in with this position. Learning something new every time I come in to work is also a bonus.

What I wish was different

I wish that I had a bit more say in how things are to look in the store (e.g. display tables, mannequins, etc.). Although, I do have the ability to improvise because since we are a smaller store, we do not have a lot of the things corporate is calling for to include in displays. I would love to eventually help out J.Crew’s Merchandising team at their corporate offices in New York down the line!

Advice

Well, I did not think I had a chance of being hired due to my previous experience levels but they greeted me with open arms and offered to help teach me along the way. So my advice would be to apply to any position you can because you never know; you may be the exact person that the company is looking for.
