It was very hands-on and I got to work with many professionals in public relations, graphic design, photography, and management. I learned so much about Adobe Indesign, Adobe Photoshop, Constant Contact, Social Media Marketing, talking to patrons, and Digital Signage. It taught me areas that I need to improve while also building up my confidence in my abilities to accomplish everything I needed to do.
What I wish was different
I wish I would've had more people from non-dance backgrounds around me as well. However, if you are very artistic and love dance, this place is for you. You will love it here.
Advice
Know that if you are coming from a culturally diverse background that the environment is considerate and supporting your transition into the work and living space, but you still may be in for a bit of a cultural shock. Especially if you have never lived and worked exclusively with people who are not as culturally diverse. Just be mentally aware of where you are going, but the experience is priceless and valuable. It will teach you a lot about yourself.
