Manager at jersey mikes

January - August 2019 • Fontana, CA

What I liked

I really enjoyed leading a team and creating a culture.

What I wish was different

I took time to figure out what career path I wanted to go with so, I don’t not wish anything would have been different.

Advice

Keep applying, there are many jobs and career paths you can go down but you have to be persistent.

What I liked

That I could be constantly doing something

What I wish was different

I had gotten paid more

Advice

The food industry/customer service is definitely something that’s different and that I think everyone should experience. You have a better understanding for the workers.

Assistant Manager

July - September 2019 • Woodinville, WA

What I liked

I loved how helpful the team was at training me and filling me in on what it means to be an effective manager, and further, what it means to be an effective franchisee.

What I wish was different

I wish I could have spent more time managing, but I still felt like I learned a lot!

Advice

Get paired with a great manager, one that loves to talk so you can pick their brain constantly about their thoughts. It was so helpful for me doing that!

June 2018 • Orland Park, IL

What I liked

I advanced my multitasking skills and developed a better understanding of how a managing position impacts the overall moral and functionality of a business.

What I wish was different

The work was tough and the low pay I earned felt as though it wasn’t enough. I understand this is the reality of this kind of work but it just doesn’t always feel the time and effort I put in makes up for the low income I earn.

Advice

This job definitely helps one get out of your shell, if you have one. You work hard as a team with Jersey Mike’s. It’s not just one persons job to do this or that. If one part of the chain breaks, everyone else falls down. This is a good job to work on multitasking and correcting one’s work ethic if they find themselves with the difficulty of staying focus or attentive on the job.

Sandwich Maker

June - August 2018 • Naperville, IL

What I liked

Liked the fact that you get to meet different people everyday, share how your day was going and also get to know how theirs was going as well. Aside from making more money, it was one thing that got me so excited to go work

What I wish was different

I wish I had gotten a less rigid schedule. I worked 6 days a week because we were short staffed so I did not have enough time to do other things over the summer. Aside from that, I loved my time working there.

Advice

One piece of advice I would share about this experience is to be happy and interact with the customers. You can make more than just sandwiches, people's day can also be added to the list.
