Orientation Leader

May - July 2019 • Providence, RI

What I liked

It was a great experience for first and second year students who are still searching for a group of level headed people. The staff I was a part of over the Summer became my friends over the school year and it was a blast working with them over the summer. You only work two days out of the week as well which allows you to have another job if you like!

What I wish was different

The work days are long... You will be working from 6am all the way to 11:45pm. The entire day you will be with your orienties and remember you are a role model for these incoming first year students. You have to be very careful with your speech as well so that you don't offend anyone which can be a challenge.

Advice

Never let any of the in coming first years see you down and upset. They look up to you and if your sad and not having fun they'll be sad and immediately go on their phone and not wanna be at orientation. Everyday is a new day!
