I liked being thrown into the medical world and how much they let me do at LVIM. The doctors and nurse practitioners were very kind and often let me go in to patient appointments with them. I really learned a lot about the paperwork behind being a doctor and got to see a lot of the struggles that the medical world has created for some people.
What I wish was different
I wish I had a little bit more say in the doctors I got to be with, but overall the experience was amazing.
Advice
I would say don't be afraid to talk to the doctors there and ask any question you can. Ask if you can go into appointments with them. The worst that could happen is they say no. This is a great way to learn and shadow doctors without all of the crazy paperwork that many hospitals require.
