I enjoyed working with fellow interns and having the opportunity to gain knowledge in a variety of skills as it pertains to publishing, editing, and writing. I had to opportunity to work on books in the process of being published and watch my hard work become tangible. I enjoy that the writing and editing I am able to do with this internship is helping yet another person in our community tell their story.
What I wish was different
I wish I had taken more notes during this experience, we learn so much during the internship that I find myself at times trying to remember an editing technique or Photoshop tool from the day before.
Advice
Firstly patience is key for a job like this, at any given day we are working on multiple things at once and it can be overwhelming at times. Secondly I would suggest interns find something they enjoy about the job, for me I was able to read and learn about the many different stories of authors just within the community.
