Lennar Corporation

NextGen Intern

June - August 2019 • Miami, FL

What I liked

The entire team was very welcoming, and I felt very supported throughout my time there. I was given the opportunity to rotate through each department within the company, and with this exposure, helped me realize my niche for construction. I was challenged on a daily basis, (such as mastering a new program) which is exactly what I was looking for in an internship.

What I wish was different

I wish we had started earlier in the Summer.

Advice

Take advantage of each opportunity provided to you, and be enthusiastic with this mindset. I met some great people during my time at Lennar, who I wouldn't have had the privilege of meeting if not for stepping out of my comfort zone and truly embracing the internship.

I loved the team I was on and the work that I did. Everyone was welcoming and encouraged me to learn. I also enjoyed the variety of my work. It allowed me to practice writing and research in multiple contexts and for different audiences, which will be very valuable as I continue to pursue a career in writing.

What I wish was different

Nothing

Advice

Be ready to apply your skills in various ways and to learn new things. I entered my internship knowing little about finance and left with a great amount of experience writing about it.
