LensCrafters

EyeCare Advisor

June 2017 • Racine, WI

What I liked

This job gives me great experience for the field that I want to go into and everyday brings new and rewarding challenges.

What I wish was different

The training was kind of difficult, but it's just because there are so many different aspects and pieces to the job that have to be learned.

Advice

Be patient with yourself, and don't be afraid to ask questions. It's better to go slow and take a little longer than to mess up a patient's glasses or input the wrong information.

Eyewear consultant

July 2019 • Costa Mesa, CA

What I liked

I love the work environment because my coworkers and I are a family. We work well together and still have fun, which translates into even better customer service to our patients.

What I wish was different

I wish I could have the opportunity to publicize LensCrafters more and to share my knowledge with others about the importance of getting your eyes checked.

Advice

A piece of advice I have is to not be afraid and just apply. I was the youngest person working at my LensCrafters location at the age of 18. Everyone else was in their late 20s or early 30s, but I decided to use my age as an advantage. I think this could be applicable to a lot of college students. Being young allows us more time to learn and to grow, and employers see that so don't be afraid of applying to jobs that you want.

Eyewear Consultant

May 2019 • Princeton, NJ

What I liked

I loved the environment and the community that LensCrafters was able to create

What I wish was different

I wish that it was a tad busier... I ended up doing a lot of dull work because of how slow it is over the summer!

Advice

Be ready to learn and think on your feet. Sales jobs are not easy and this one comes with a lot of information that needs to be learned around the eyewear industry as a whole.

Eyecare Advisor

June - September 2019 • Bolingbrook, IL

What I liked

Co-workers were super helpful and energetic. Everyone enjoyed being at work. It was rewarding to build a relationship with customers. It was a great environment.

What I wish was different

Lot of required on line training that does not help until you get on the floor and do it yourself.

Advice

It is a lot of information and a lot of procedure, but eventually you will get the hang of it and it becomes super simple.
