I gained important job experience that allowed a better idea of what a job within the field of animal care would look like. There is also a public speaking component which I enjoyed. But learning about and taking care of the animals was by far the best part.
What I wish was different
I wish it were paid, and there was a little more guidance on the independent project.
Advice
Go in understanding the workload and be sure that you will be able to fulfill the hour requirements.

What I liked
It was a very hands on experience where my comfortability with the animals allowed me to guide how integrated I was in caring for animals.
What I wish was different
Advice
There is nothing like hands on experience but make sure it doesn't add too much to your plate. It won't be a worthwhile experience if you have too busy of a schedule to truly enjoy the experience.
