Software Engineer Intern

April - August 2019 • South Jordan, UT

What I liked

The culture was amazing. The people I worked with were all so willing to help out when I had questions, and everyone seemed more focused on working well as a team than in their own personal recognition.

What I wish was different

Advice

Lucid pays well, but not quite as well as some bigger companies around here. However, I would still recommend going to Lucid if you get an offer just because of the people and their focus on making it a great place to work-- it's well worth the slightly lower pay.

What I liked

Lucid is an awesome place to work. All of their software engineer interns get treated essentially like regular new hires, which means we got to experience directly what being a software engineer is like. The people there are awesome, and there are all kinds of fun benefits like free food.

Customer Success Strategy Intern

May - August 2019 • South Jordan, UT

What I liked

Lucid knows how to take care of their interns! They planned many intern and team activities to get to know the people you work with. They also trusted me to work on very meaningful projects and gave me the freedom to accomplish my responsibilities the way I thought was best.

What I wish was different

I wish I would have taken the time to get to know more people outside of my department. I could have expanded my personal network even more and learned from some very phenomenal people.

Advice

If you intern with them, take initiative and you'll get to work on some very intriguing projects! Have fun with it--it's a blast!

QA Intern

May - August 2018 • South Jordan, UT

What I liked

They are a really good company who truly embodies their core values. They gave me serious work, I was the only person in my position on my team. They know how to work hard and play hard.

What I wish was different

Advice

Know the company when applying. They want to make sure you are interested in THEM, not just “a tech company.” Know their core values and which ones you relate to.

Software Engineering Intern

May - September 2018 • South Jordan, UT

What I liked

The interns are treated just like full time employees. Right after the on-boarding process I had code go into to production and was able to make a real, meaningful impact on the product. It was equal parts challenging and rewarding!

What I wish was different

Honestly, I just wish it could have been longer!

Advice

I would say, for any engineer considering an internship absolutely take the opportunity if you have it. You learn so much about real-world software development and the connections and resume status are absolutely invaluable. If you have the opportunity to work at Lucid, absolutely take it. They're an awesome company to work for and a great experience for any engineer.
