I liked having a flexible schedule. I also really liked getting to know each of the department heads and learning the inner workings of county government.
What I wish was different
I wish there had been more structure in my task. I liked my schedule being flexible and having the freedom to be as creative as I wanted, however it was hard at times to come in every day and work in such a self-directed environment when I had never done that before.
Advice
I would say do the little things in great strides. Make sure you are on time, be polite, be interactive and try to learn everything that you can. These things may seem small but they can make a big difference and your superior will defiantly notice.
